Director of Operations – Job Listing
Reports to: President/CEO
Hours: 40 per week

To supervise all manufacturing activities at the operating level and to achieve effective and efficient use of facilities and personnel as well as conformance to schedules and budgets.

Duties:

• Develop, implement and improve efficient, high quality manufacturing processes, operations and tools.
• Provide technical leadership to product operations; assist supervisors with new techniques, procedures, processes and problem solving.
• Improve product capacity and line balancing.
• Resolve production process issues, implement process changes and perform process validation.
• Plans and directs the purchase, maintenance and layout of equipment.
• Establishes workflow and assembly methods to maximize efficiency of manufacturing operations.
• Responsible for procurement and scheduling/planning.
• Manage and assist in coordinating effort between support departments within the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience in electronic assembly processes.
• Demonstrate strong project management skills while leading or supporting project activities.
• Experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes, techniques, and procedures with a demonstrated ability in measurement, analysis and adjustment for improved yields.
• Experience should include BGA, BGA rework, thermal profiling, X ray, screen printing, pick and place programming and reflow profiling.
• Experience with implementation of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma experience desired. Prior experience within an ISO-9001 environment required, AS9100 environment a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and managed multiple projects/priorities is essential with a hard charging work ethic and an ability to motivate others.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with the ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.

Working Conditions:

• Work is conducted in a warehouse environment.
• Exposure to moderate levels of noise and variations in temperature.
• Position requires significant time periods of walking and standing with periodic amounts of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelors in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in a high-mix / high-volume environment is preferred. Expert knowledge of IPC 610, IPC J-Standard 001 & IPC 7711 & 7721 rework standards.
